In the two summers before my last year of high school and my first year at the University of Maryland, I participated in a pair of ten week internships at the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, Maryland. This served as an interested first foray into the "real" working world. After applying, interviewing a few times, passing polygraph and mental health tests, and having a couple of contractors chat with everyone I had ever met, I was matched up with a mentor and a laboratory doing R&D.

I worked in a biometrics lab doing a combination of 3d facial modeling and facial recognition. A more complete overview of my project is described in the Projects section of this site.
