After a summer at IBM, I decided to stick around campus to see what a more academic CS job could offer. The Center for Advanced Transportation Technologies (CATTLab) is a UMD venture tasked with connecting computational technology with massive traffic and other civic datasets.
The project I worked on there -- a realtime visualization of traffic data using OpenGL -- can be found in the Projects section of this site. I believe it has since morphed into an emergency response and disaster management simulation for the Department of Homeland Security.
